The Variegated Flax Lily (Dianella tasmanica 'Variegata') is an attractive evergreen, clump-forming perennial prized for its striking sword-shaped foliage, beautifully striped in green and creamy white. Its arching leaves provide strong texture and year-round colour, making it an excellent architectural foliage plant for modern and traditional landscapes.
During the warmer months, slender flowering stems carry delicate blue to lavender-blue flowers, adding a subtle splash of colour above the distinctive variegated foliage. Its compact, spreading habit makes it particularly effective when planted in groups, borders, containers, or as a contrasting groundcover.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use when grown in an appropriate bright position. Outdoors, it performs particularly well in partial shade, although it can tolerate sunnier positions when adequately watered.
