Pachypodium lamerei, commonly known as the Madagascar Palm, is a dramatic, sculptural succulent tree prized for its thick, spiny trunk and large, tropical-looking leaves. Despite its name, it is not a true palm. It is a standout specimen plant for indoor containers, patios, succulent gardens, and rockeries, and is highly valued for its architectural form and low-maintenance nature.
