Measuring 1.4 metres in length with an accessible 30cm depth, its low, wide layout mimics a peaceful country waterfowl pool. Installation & Foundation Guide Place on a firm, level, and well-compacted base to ensure the 50kg basin is evenly supported. A base of compacted crusher run, level paving slabs, or smooth gravel works best. Use a spirit level along the rim before filling to ensure water levels remain uniform across the entire length of the pond. Place a compact submersible pump within the basin to keep water gently circulating and oxygenated (submersible pump sold separately).
Maintenance & Care
- Keep the basin topped up with clean water so any submerged pump remains fully covered.
- Regularly skim out fallen leaves, blossoms, and garden debris to keep water crystal clear.
- Add a wildlife-safe, concrete-friendly water conditioner to prevent green algae buildup on the duck sculptures and basin floor.
- In severe winter frost regions, drain the water or lower levels to safeguard against ice expansion damage.
