Botanical Name: Pachypodium lamerei
Common Names: Madagascar Palm, False Halfmens
📌 Product Description
Pachypodium lamerei is a bold, architectural succulent tree recognised for its thick, spiny trunk and crown of long, glossy green leaves. Although commonly referred to as “Halfmens” in South African nurseries, the true Halfmens is Pachypodium namaquanum.
This Madagascar native stores water in its swollen trunk, making it highly drought-tolerant and well suited to water-wise gardens. Mature plants may produce elegant white, trumpet-shaped flowers during the warmer months. Its striking silhouette makes it a standout feature in both containers and landscape plantings.
