Installation & Foundation Guide Due to its 4.7m length and 235kg total weight, this feature is best laid out along a gentle natural slope or a built-up earth terrace. Prepare a firm, compacted base of crusher run or level sand/gravel bedding for each section to prevent settling. Dry-fit each overlapping piece (Top, Lip, Bend, Straight, and Misty Pond) and verify with a spirit level that all spill points incline slightly downward into the next tier. Connect a high-flow submersible pond pump inside the Misty Pond and run durable flexible pond tubing back up to the Canyon Creek Top inlet (pump and hosing sold separately).
Maintenance & Care
- Maintain proper water volume in the Misty Pond to ensure the pump intake remains fully submerged at all times.
- Periodically clear fallen leaves, twigs, and organic debris along the stream bed and intake grate to ensure smooth water transit.
- Treat occasionally with a fish- and wildlife-safe algaecide to prevent green film on the spillway ledges and pond basin.
- In severe winter frost regions, lower basin water levels or drain to avoid freeze-thaw stress on the concrete.
