Botanical Name: Tibouchina spp. (commonly Tibouchina urvilleana)
Common Names: Princess Flower, Glory Bush, Lasiandra
Tibouchina, commonly known as Princess Flower, is a showy evergreen shrub celebrated for its large, velvety purple to violet blooms with striking contrasting stamens. Flowering mainly from late summer through autumn, it delivers a bold splash of colour when many other plants are fading.
Its soft, slightly silvery-green foliage and upright growth habit make it ideal for feature planting, mixed shrub borders, and large containers. In warm, frost-free regions of South Africa, Tibouchina thrives and can even be trained as a small ornamental tree.
