Installation & Foundation Guide Install on a firm, flat, and well-compacted foundation to evenly distribute its 135kg weight. A stable base of compacted crusher run, leveled paving slabs, or a flat concrete pad is recommended. Verify with a spirit level across the pond rim before filling with water to ensure the cascade spills smoothly and evenly across each tier. Place a submersible pond pump inside the basin and run flexible piping up to the top inlet on the Ferncliff spillway (submersible pump sold separately).
Maintenance & Care
- Keep the Spring Pond topped up with clean water so the submersible pump intake remains fully covered during operation.
- Periodically remove fallen leaves, twigs, and garden debris to keep water clear and avoid pump intake clogs.
- Treat regularly with a fish-safe, bird-friendly algaecide to prevent green algae buildup on the rockface and in the basin.
