Installation & Foundation Guide Install on a firm, flat, and well-compacted foundation to properly distribute the 111kg weight. A level base of compacted crusher run, thick concrete pavers, or a flat concrete slab is recommended to prevent shifting over time. Place the Bird Haven Pond first and verify levelness with a spirit level before progressively stacking the tiers (Extra-Large through Small). Ensure each overlapping tier angles slightly forward so water spills cleanly into the shelf below. Position a submersible pond pump inside the basin and run flexible piping up to the top intake manifold behind the Small tier (submersible pump sold separately).
Maintenance & Care
- Keep the Bird Haven Pond generously filled with clean water so the submersible pump intake remains fully covered during operation.
- Periodically remove fallen leaves, grass clippings, and twigs from the basin and rock shelves to keep water clear and prevent pump intake clogs.
- Treat with a concrete-friendly, bird- and wildlife-safe algaecide to prevent green algae buildup along the spill ledges and basin floor.
