Botanical Name: Gymnocalycium mihanovichii
Common Names: Chin Cactus, Moon Cactus, Ruby Ball Cactus
📌 Product Description
Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, commonly known as the Chin Cactus, is a compact and highly decorative cactus prized for its rounded ribbed body and vibrant colours. Natural forms typically display green to grey-green tones, while cultivated varieties can feature striking shades of red, pink, orange, or yellow.
Many colourful forms are grafted onto a green rootstock cactus, creating the well-known “Moon Cactus” commonly seen in ornamental cactus displays. The plant has smooth ribs with small clusters of short spines and can produce delicate pale pink to white flowers when mature.
Because of its small size and unusual appearance, this cactus is very popular in container arrangements, succulent collections, and indoor bright spaces.
