Recommended Growing Medium & Compost Plant in a fertile, nutrient-rich, well-aerated potting medium. Incorporate quality organic compost, perlite, and coarse bark into standard potting mix to ensure sharp drainage while retaining light moisture around the roots. Good container drainage is critical to keep the swollen trunk base healthy.

Recommended Fertiliser Feed once a month throughout spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser diluted to half strength. Hold back on feeding during autumn and winter when plant growth slows.

Growing Conditions

☀️ Light: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight or dappled shade. Direct harsh sunlight can scorch foliage, while very low light can cause leggy stem growth.

💧 Water: Water thoroughly until moisture drains freely, then allow the top 2–4cm of soil to dry out before watering again. Avoid water accumulating in the drip saucer.

🌱 Soil: Well-drained, airy peat- or bark-based growing mix with a neutral to slightly acidic pH.

✂️ Maintenance: Prune back overgrown stems in spring if you wish to keep it compact and shapely. Gently rotate the pot every few weeks so the canopy grows evenly toward the light.
