Camellia Japonica "Double Red" 10Liter

Camellia japonica – Double Red

Product Description

Camellia japonica (Double Red) is a stunning evergreen shrub known for its large, double, rose-like blooms in deep red. These long-lasting flowers appear in the cooler months and provide strong colour contrast against glossy, dark green foliage. This variety is ideal for shaded gardens, woodland settings, formal borders, patio containers and hedging, adding elegance and seasonal interest to South African landscapes.

Size When Fully Grown

• Height: Typically 2 m – 4 m
• Spread: Approximately 2 m – 3 m
• Growth is slow to moderate; plants can be maintained smaller with light pruning.

Best Growing Conditions

• Light: Partial shade to filtered sunlight. Best with morning sun and protection from harsh afternoon sun.

• Growing Season: Vegetative growth occurs mainly in spring and summer.
• Flowering Season: Late winter to spring, depending on variety and local climate.
