Product Details

Botanical Name: Othonna capensis ‘Ruby Necklace’
Common Names: Ruby Necklace, String of Rubies, Little Pickles, Purple Necklace Plant, Trailing Othonna

📌 Product Description

Othonna capensis ‘Ruby Necklace’ is a striking trailing succulent known for its vibrant ruby-purple stems and elongated bean-shaped leaves that turn deep burgundy under bright light. In lower light, the foliage remains green, while strong sun intensifies the rich purple tones, creating a dramatic cascading effect.

This fast-growing, trailing succulent produces cheerful yellow, purple daisy-like flowers during its active growing season, adding contrast against the dark foliage. Its cascading growth makes it ideal for hanging baskets, balcony planters, and decorative pots where the trailing stems can spill gracefully over the edges.

A hardy, drought-tolerant succulent perfectly suited to South African water-wise gardens and container displays.
