Installation & Foundation Guide Due to its substantial 265kg weight and wide 2.6m stance, this water feature requires a solid, completely flat, and compacted foundation. A level base of compacted crusher run, thick concrete pavers, or a reinforced concrete pad is recommended to ensure even weight distribution. Use a spirit level across the basin rim and cavern top before filling to ensure the water sheets evenly across all internal rock ledges. Install a high-flow submersible pond pump inside the basin and run flexible piping up to the top manifold behind the alcove (submersible pump sold separately).
Maintenance & Care
- Ensure the Misty Pond water level is checked regularly to keep the submersible pump intake fully submerged.
- Skim out fallen leaves, twigs, and plant debris from the basin periodically to maintain optimal water circulation.
- Treat with a concrete-friendly, fish- and wildlife-safe algaecide to prevent green algae buildup on the rockface and in the basin.
