Agapanthus Praecox "African Lily Blue" 10Liter

Product Description

Agapanthus praecox, commonly known as the African Lily or Lily of the Nile, is an iconic evergreen perennial celebrated for its dramatic spherical flower heads and lush, arching strap-like foliage. Supplied in a substantial 10-litre container, this established, multi-stemmed specimen delivers immediate structure, volume, and landscape presence to garden beds, walkways, and large patio containers.

During mid to late summer, tall, sturdy flowering stalks emerge above the deep green canopy, opening into large rounded umbels packed with striking tubular blossoms in shades of vibrant blue and violet. Naturally hardy and low-maintenance, this sun-loving perennial thrives across a variety of garden settings, offering high resistance to heat and dry periods once settled. It forms broad, weed-suppressing mounds that work effortlessly as border edging, mass groundcover, or structural accents alongside driveways and sunny borders.

Care & Maintenance

• Light: Position in an open, sun-drenched location for the most compact foliage and abundant, upright flower stalks.
• Watering: Water thoroughly once or twice a week while settling into new beds; once root systems are established, deep, infrequent watering during dry spells is sufficient.
• Feeding: Apply a balanced organic fertilizer (such as 3:1:5) or top-dress with rich compost in early spring to encourage dense foliage growth and heavy bud set.
• Grooming: Cut spent flower stalks off at the base after blooming to redirect plant energy into healthy rhizome and leaf development; divide overgrown clumps every 4 to 5 years to maintain vigour.
